That's rough, y'all! Email is terrible. Here's to an even bigger launch when you get it squared away!
Thank you Bryan! Email is terrible but also somehow the best option to escape a tight coupling to social media 🫣
Things I've said in the past few weeks:
"I used to hate for work email, but then I used Slack."
"Social media was probably a mistake"
These are all very accurate, yes
Sorry email let you down 😩 Must be a pain, but also kind of relief? to know that the lower-than-expected numbers had a reason.
Best of luck on v2 launch! I will be there again, refreshing the page all day 😊
@11ty https://ismercuryinretrograde.com/ (sorry to see it)
@maxfenton so mercurial
@11ty Steve Jobs never launched a product during a retrograde.
@maxfenton NeXT.js
uh, sucks. you can also ask people to reply to your newsletter email. I heard that does wonders to the gmail spam filter.
yeah, good shout!

@depone just a minor delay!
@11ty Curious: if you were funded, wasn't that the point of the Kickstarter campaign? I know there were stretch goals, but why did being fully funded make it impossible to continue without a further direct email campaign? (To be clear: I'm not asking "why are you so greedy?", I'm just wondering why you felt 100% didn't mean success, and whether there's a different "100%" that you wanted to reach.)
@me that’s a fair question!
Given this campaign and previous campaigns, in the Awesome org internally we know how successful it *could* be if the mailing list were operating as expected and we just want the opportunity to reach that full potential!
@11ty gmail sucks because you cant even talk to a human to fix it. sfp set, dmarc set, siged, ssl, reverse dns all set. genuine business email. still happens from time to time and you have no clue why or who to talk to to fix it. gmail is to arrogant to respect RFCs stating a postaster adress exists exactly for such issues. thats why I recommend everyone to self host and not have gmail control your mailbox.
